Anniversary Celebration

The shoppe that is home to my little art pieces is celebrating their one year anniversary. On September 15 from 10 AM to 1 PM, the collective (Mount Prospect, IL) will have a fun open house with treats and beverages. As an added bonus, this served as a nice little deadline for me to complete a few projects…

Keep Calm

8″ x 11″ acrylic on canvas board

When I’m stressed, this is what I like to do… Bake cupcakes! I highly recommend this relaxation technique.

Vacation

8″ x 11″ acrylic on canvas, wood frame

I’m originally from Michigan, now in Illinois, but this saying still applies. When you want to get away (and baking cupcakes just won’t cut it anymore), my advice is to head “up north”.

Collaboration

17″ x 20″ Cotton with polyester fiber fill

As I say on my home page, my husband is a (better) artist. He painted an amazing owl piece he gave as a wedding present, but we’re fortunate to have it saved electronically. You can purchase a giclée print of this print at the collective or on his website. But I took this print and had it reproduced on fabric to make a throw pillow. This will be one of a few pieces I plan to create using his art as the main print.

So… If you’re in the Chicago area this weekend, swing by downtown Mount Prospect and say hi!
