Well, the jewelry making trial has nearly reached the three-month mark and I’m still finding it an enjoyable experience.
Here are my observations thus far:
- I want to wear my jewelry (instead of sell it, which is the point)
- My hands ache after working too long at it.
- Some pieces take longer than others, but pricing them can’t be much different than simpler pieces.
- I’m going to need a display of some sort to photograph from, or people are going to be seeing a lot of my own neck!
As long as I keep enjoying it, I’m going to continue. That’s the point of a hobby, right? And I don’t feel as guilty sitting on the couch all weekend, watching basketball or football, if I’m also making a necklace or two!
These items are for sale at the collective, and I’m happy to report that a few of the first pieces I posted about back in October have sold (as well as a few that weren’t posted at all).
I’ll wrap this post with a quote from Maya Angelou: “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
