See You Soon and The Art of Saying Goodbye

The bittersweet aspect of all good things, is that they must come to an end. The shoppe that I’ve been fortunate to call home for my jewelry and other fun pieces is closing on June 21. the collective has been a place where dozens of artists and artisans have been able to share their work, where our friends came to chat, paint a picture, do a little vision boarding… and I personally have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My husband and I shared shifts manning the shoppe, we worked on displays, chatted with locals. Best of all, this shoppe gave me the opportunity to learn. Through a series of “firsts” I discovered I really enjoy making jewelry, that I could successfully host a paint class or two, and that owning a small business probably isn’t that far off for my husband and I. The experience has been inspiring, despite the difficulties nearly all small retail is facing today.

If you’re around Mount Prospect, IL, you have a few more days to check out great deals not only on my stuff, but those of many talented people in the realm of ceramics, woodworking, graphic design and art. Special thanks to Kaitlin Skye Collins, owner and creator of the collective, for giving me the opportunity to grow and for all the great memories my husband, our friends and I have thanks to this little creative space.

Here’s a bit of a collage of items on display and available now, (but of course, subject to sales).

We’ll see you soon!
